With this tour you will explore the northern part of Morocco starting from Tanger, you will visit Meknes, Fes and Rabat Imperial cities, the beautiful blue town of Chaouen and the Romans ruins city Volubilis. You will learn everything about the history, the culture and daily lifestyle in Morocco. You walk through the narrow streets of the old cities and capture the beautiful diversity of landscape and architecture.
You will meet your English speaking driver-guide at your accommodation in Tanger city; and drive to explore Tanger which has a highly individual character, a product of its location at the gate to the Mediterranean Sea and the meeting point of Africa and Europe. You will visit Tanger Holy Spirit Cathedral, the Historical Museum Dar El-Makhzen, the archaeological Caves of Hercules and the African continent’s extreme northwest corner Cape Spartel where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea are linked. In the afternoon you will drive to Chefchaouen (the blue town of Morocco) about 2 hours drive.
Today is a leisure day free of driving, you have a full time at the town to explore by visiting the heart of the city Uta el-Hammam square, the Great Mosque (with a curious octagonal tower) and the Kasbah (containing a garden, a museum and an art Gallery). Leaving the Medina (old city) to the most famous point Ras El-Maa waterfall, where the sound of the water and the green hills provide a great dose of fresh air.
After a nice breakfast in your accommodation, you will drive through the stunning Rif Mountain range towards the attractive Volibilis preserved Roman ruins in North Africa and learn more about the history of the Romans culture with a local guide. From here you will have a 10 minutes drive to discover the holiest Islamic town Moulay- Idriss built by Moulay-Idriss- I in 788, open just for Muslims, but it gives to visitors an excellent impression just by taking a look at the hallway of the town and its a panoramic view from the top. After the two visits, we will drive to Meknes Imperial City, where a local guide is waiting for you to explore Bab El khemis Gate, the Place El Hadim (the square of Destruction), and the finest Bab Mansour gateway in North Africa, the Mausoleum of Molay Ismail and the Heri Es-soani Granary. You have one hour drive via the highway to Fes city.
Guided tour of the medina in Fez is a great way to get an inner look into the culture and history of the city. Your guide will take you through the medina of Fes, one of the world’s largest walled cities.
You will meet your guide at your accommodation to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and much other classic art and souvenirs of Morocco. You will visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860. Entry is not permitted to non-Muslims. See the fountains including the Nejjarine Fountain, the Medersa (Koranic schools) founded as early as the 13th century. The Batha Palace which is now a museum of arts and Moroccan traditions and the Chouwara tanneries, the Souks including Souk Attarine, one of the liveliest in the city and Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics. After the tour, you will walk back to your accommodation with your guide.
Today you will drive to Casablanca city on the highway; including a city tour in the capital city of Morocco Rabat by a knowledgeable local guide from the city. He will lead you to discover the Kasbah of Oudaya, the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Shellah Kasbah and the Royal Palace. You will have lunch in a restaurant after seeing all the highlights of the city and take the highway towards Casablanca city.
Today your driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation to visit the big Hassan the second Mosque, the second largest Mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world’s second tallest minaret at 210 meters (689 ft). Then you will continue on the Atlantic beachside of Ain Diab to see the walls of the old city and the Rick’s Café which was designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the classic movie of Casablanca. After the visit, you will have the transfer to Casablanca airport depend on your flight time.
